Alex Chang

Alex Chang, CEO and Co-founder

Alex Chang is CEO and Co-founder of Roost with more than 15 years of experience in the real estate and technology markets. Prior to founding Roost, Alex served as SVP of Technology & Operations of TotalMove, Inc., a free service that supports homebuyers through every step of the moving and real estate process. Before joining TotalMove, Alex was Senior Director of Services for Walmart.com, where he oversaw all consumer service business units. In 1997, Alex co-founded GetawayZone, an online vacation rental marketplace, which merged with VacationSpot and was acquired by Expedia in 2000.

As a homeowner, amateur real estate investor and home-browsing enthusiast, Alex is personally vested in creating an easier way for people to search, browse and discover their new home.

Alex holds an MBA from University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.

Alex Lange

Alex Lange, CTO and Co-founder

Alex Lange is CTO and Co-founder of Roost with more than 22 years of experience in the real estate and technology markets. Prior to Roost, Alex served as VP, IT and Chief Architect at AllPosters.com and Art.com. Before joining Art.com, he was a Managing Partner and Chief Architect of e-business development for IKON Technology Services. Alex was instrumental in start-ups such as Reel.com and TheSak. Additionally, his experience spans numerous senior technology positions at companies such as GE Capital, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Charles Schwab, Xerox and Levi Strauss.

Alex can be best described as a user-experience zealot, dedicated to dramatically improving the home search experience.

Alex attended the University of California, Irvine after service in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division.

Matthew Cullen

Matthew Cullen, VP Business Development

Matthew Cullen serves as VP Business Development with more than 16 years of domestic and international business development experience in advertising, digital media, technology and television. Prior to Roost, Matthew served as Vice President at MeeVee, a video search company, where he ran business development and syndication sales. In this role he was responsible for all strategic partnerships with major TV networks, Hollywood studios and technology companies. He also secured distribution deals with large media properties such as Gannett’s USA Today, the New York Daily News, Chicago Sun Times, Hearst Newspaper Group, and Media News Group. Before joining MeeVee, Matthew was responsible for Network Sales at OpenTV and Respond TV, broadband advertising sales at Excite@Home, as well as TV programming and feature film sales for Sony Television Distribution.

Matthew was drawn to Roost out of his personal passion for real estate investing and the opportunity to bring a more polished search experience to consumers’ most demanding purchase process.

Matthew holds a BA in American History from the University of Georgia.
